takeの基本的なイメージは「取る」ですよね。
でもそれ以外にもたくさんの使い方があるんです。

①「取る」「（自分の体内や領域に）取り込む」
I took her by the hand. 「彼女の手を取った。」
Is this seat taken? 「この席は空いていますか？」
Take this medicine after each meal. 「食後に薬を服用すること」

② 「持っていく」「連れて行く」
You should take your umbrella with you. 「傘を持っていった方が良いよ。」
Could you take me to the Central Hotel?「（タクシーなど）セントラルホテルまでお願いできますか？」

③ 「理解する」
Don't take me wrong. 「（私のこと）誤解しないで。」
He takes everything seriously. 「彼はなんでも真に受ける。」

④　「（時間が）かかる」
How long does it take to the art museum? 「美術館まではどのくらいかかりますか？
It took me two hours to finish this work. 「この仕事を終わらせるのに２時間かかりました。」

⑤ 「乗る」
Let's take a cab home. 「タクシーで帰ろう」
I have to take the first train tomorrow. 「明日は始発に乗らなくてはいけない。」
